Window Replacement project at a School in Solihull.

THE BRIEF

Spicer Surveys Ltd were appointed as Principal Designer to carefully oversee the replacement of these windows at a school located in Solihull. This project aimed to effectively renew an aged elevation of the school building, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. The necessary works were completed during the Summer break to ensure that there was no disruption to the School's operations.

WHAT WE DID

Spicer Surveys Ltd has been working with the Academy to deliver their capital SCA works for a number of years now. This project was highlighted for the Summer given the disruptive nature to the Classrooms it had to be completed within the 5/6 week period. The works were designed, tendered and managed to ensure the project was completed on time and on budget.

Spicer Surveys proudly fulfilled the Principal Designer role and provided a comprehensive range of services, including but not limited to: feasibility studies, detailed measured surveys, project management (which included taking on the Principal Designer Role), contract administration, cost planning, and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations. The entire project was executed in a timely and efficient manner over the Summer break, strategically planned to minimize any disruption to the daily operations of the school and its students.

THE RESULT

The newly installed windows have vastly improved the overall educational environment of the school, creating a more conducive atmosphere for learning, as well as significantly enhancing the thermal efficiency of the buildings. This enhancement has effectively reduced the solar gain in the classrooms, providing a more comfortable temperature for students and teachers alike.
