Replacement Windows, Birmingham

Phased Window Replacement project at a School in Birmingham.

THE BRIEF

Spicer Surveys Ltd were appointed as Principal Designer to oversee the replacement of these windows at a school in Birmingham as part of a phase project to renew an aged block of the school.

The first phase has now been completed with the next phase planned for early 2025. We are now working closely with the school to ensure the remainder of the project is funded and completed in a timely manner.

WHAT WE DID

Spicer Surveys Ltd were involved right from the start, working with the Academy to provide initial scheme and budgets and tender the works to secure best value for money. The works have been phased to suit SCA funding available and this initial phase was completed on time and on budget. Spicer Surveys Ltd provided full project management support ensuring CDM & Building Control compliance, monitoring the project until completion.

Spicer Surveys fulfilled the Principal Designer role and provided services including but not limited to:

  • Feasibility study

  • Measured surveys

  • Project Management

  • Contract Administration

  • Cost Planning & CDM compliance

The project was carried out in a timely manner over the Summer break to minimise disruption to the school.

THE RESULT

With the project completed on time and within budget the second phase has now been planned for 2025. The windows have vastly improved the educational environment of the school as well as the thermal efficiency reducing the solar gain in the Classrooms.
