Re-Roofing Project, Warwickshire

THE BRIEF

Following a successful funding bid, Spicer Surveys Ltd were appointed as Principal Designer to oversee the roofing works at this educational institution located in Warwickshire. The first two phases of the project have now been meticulously completed following the conclusion of this second phase, and we are now working closely and collaboratively with the school to ensure that the third and final phase is funded appropriately and completed in a timely manner.

WHAT WE DID

Spicer Surveys Ltd were involved right from the start, working with the Academy to provide initial scheme and budgets to enable a sucessful bid. The works have been phased to suit funding available and this second phase was completed in 2021. Spicer Surveys Ltd provided full project management support ensuring CDM compliance and monitoring the project until completion.

Spicer Surveys fulfilled the Principal Designer role for this particular project and provided a range of essential services including, but not limited to, a comprehensive feasibility study, detailed measured surveys, effective project management, careful contract administration, and thorough cost planning along with compliance with CDM regulations. The project was skillfully carried out over a six-week summer period specifically to minimize disruption to the school's regular activities, and it was completed successfully, coming in under budget, which was a notable achievement.

THE RESULT

With the project completed on time and under budget the second phase was a success alround. The roofs were all thermally upgraded in accordance with Building Regulation requirements and the client was provided with a single point guarantee for 25 years ensuring peace of mind.
