Re-roofing project with 25 year single point guarantee ensuring peace of mind for the school. 

THE BRIEF

Spicer Surveys Ltd were asked to provide Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bid support for a re-roofing project due to the existing roof leaking and generally being in a state of disrepair. Following the successful bid and allocation of funding, Spicer Surveys managed the project through to completion ensuring H&S compliance and that completion was delivered on time and on budget.

WHAT WE DID

Following the successful bid, Spicer Surveys Ltd were appointed to project manage the works and as such liaised with a roofing manufacturer to design, specify and tender the roofing works. The works comprised of stripping the existing roof covering and installing a new cut to falls system to enable storm water to run off better as well as replacement rooflights.

Due to the new insulation heights windows had to be raised and replaced and new fascia and rainwater goods installed to provide a comprehensive project. The benefit of working with a roofing manufacturer on projects like this is that their single point guarantee insures the roof parts i.e. insulation, roof covering, rooflights and rainwater goods as well as labour. This means that even if the contractor that installed the roof stops trading another approved contractor can come and carry out remedial works as part of the guarantee.
